Police Arrest Man In Connection With Fatal West Valley City Stabbing

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — Police have arrested a man in connection with the fatal stabbing of 19-year-old Treyvon Stephens.
West Valley City Police officials said 19-year-old Beni Hautau was arrested by Salt Lake City Police on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle. WVCPD said the vehicle was the same allegedly used to flee from the apartment complex near 4000 South Redwood Road after Stephens was stabbed on Oct. 24.
WVCPD said a murder charge will be added to any charges filed by SLCPD.
Police said Stephens did not live at the apartment complex but often stayed there with his friends. Police arrived on scene and found Stephens suffering from a stab wound.
Life-saving aid was attempted but Stephens died at the scene, according to police.
