‘Suspicious Person’ Who Prompted Magna School Lockdown Turned Out To Be An Employee

MAGNA, Utah – A school in the Granite District was briefly put on lockdown Tuesday morning due to reports of a “suspicious person” on campus, according to district officials.
The person turned out to be a school employee.
Granite School District notified the public that a lockdown protocol was in place for Matheson Junior High School in Magna after the report of a suspicious person.
“The building will be searched for any suspicious individuals and we will notify parents as soon as the protocol is lifted,” according to a tweet.
Officials tweeted soon afterward that the protocol had been lifted and “school is proceeding as normal at this time.”
According to Unified Police, the suspicious person was a Matheson Junior High School employee.
