Commercial Gas Line Hit In SLC, Cathedral Of The Madeleine Evacuated

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — A construction crew struck a commercial gas line Wednesday evening near South Temple and 300 East, according to officials with the Salt Lake City Fire Department.
SLC Fire Captain Adam Archuleta said Dominion Energy crews are on scene assessing the break.
Both directions of South Temple were closed near 300 East and B Street to 1st Avenue is also closed.
South Temple has since been reopened and crews are working to repair the leak.
Archuleta said the Cathedral of the Madeleine and a nearby residence were evacuated and crews are monitoring air quality in the area.
