SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The lights at Temple Square are set to be switched on at 5:30 p.m. Friday – even amid the construction.
According to a statement from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, there will be hundreds of thousands of colorful LED bulbs lighting up the square to mark the birth of Jesus Christ.
“Temple Square celebrates Christmas with several activities, including the Christmas light display, the First Presidency’s Christmas devotional, concerts performed by the Tabernacle Choir, Nativity displays, other musical performances and movies in the Legacy Theater in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building,” according to The Church.
The lighting of Temple Square has been a tradition since 1965. The lights will remain light through January 2, 2020.
