Church Announces Locations Of New Temples In Orem, Taylorsville, Texas

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The locations of three previously announced temples have been announced by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The temples were announced in October by Church President Russell M. Nelson.
According to a Church statement, the Orem Utah Temple will be located on a 16-acre site in the area of 1471 South Geneva Road. The building will be three stories and about 70,000 square feet. The temple will include a center spire.
A 20,000-square-foot meetinghouse will also be built.
In Taylorsville, the new temple will be constructed on a 7.5-acre site in the area of 2600 West and 4700 South. It will also be three stories and about 70,000 square feet, according to the Church.
There is an existing meetinghouse at the site that will be removed and will not be replaced.
The McAllen Texas Temple is set to be built on a 10.6-acre site in the area of Second Street and West Trenton Road, about 240 miles south of San Antonio on the southern border of the United States.
The structure will be a single story and approximately 25,000 square feet with a center spire. There will also be a 17,000-square-foot meetinghouse built at the site.
The McAllen Texas Temple will be the fifth temple in the state, according to the Church. The others are located in Dallas, Houston, Lubbock and San Antonio.
In Utah, there are currently 17 operating temples. There have been temples announced for Orem, Taylorsville, Layton, Tooele Valley and Washington County. A temple in Saratoga Springs is under construction.
