SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Christmas spirit is alive and well, and it’s causing people to be extra nice.
At least, that’s what blogger Mary Katherin Backstrom perceived when she walked out of a gas station to discover a stranger washing the windows of her car.
She’d just paid for a drink for a stranger in line behind her, and she thought that good old Christmas spirit had become infectious when she left the Florida Wa-Wa and saw someone doing a kind deed for her.
All was not as it seemed, though, because it wasn’t actually her car.
My Most Embarrassing Moment (Christmas is SO Magical)
Well this takes the cake as the most embarrassing thing I’ve done this year. 😂 😭***follow Mary Katherine Backstrom for more laughs***

“He was cleaning his own windshield,” Backstrom said through tears of laughter in her Facebook post. “I told him I loved Christmas and humanity! And I gave him a hug!”
Mary shared a video of her experience, and it’s gone viral with more than 55 million views and more than 175,000 shares on Facebook.
It’s impossible not to laugh along with her story.
The events of that fateful December day were so iconic, that it even inspired fan art:
Okay, I’m ready to retire now. Nothing I ever achieve or receive will be as wonderful as this fan art from one of my reader’s kids 😂❤️🎄

We can learn a lesson from Mary Katherine Backstrom: Do a kind deed during this Christmas season — even if it’s hugging a stranger for no apparent reason.
“I shared this with y’all because,” she laughs, “I’m out here huggin’ strangers at the gas station because the magic of Christmas is so powerful!”
