LEHI, Utah – Officials with the Utah Highway Patrol said they made over 5,000 stops for speeding in the Lehi Technology Corridor construction zone between January and September and drivers need to slow down in the area ahead of winter weather that could hit the area this weekend.
Troopers said the speed limit of 60 mph is a maximum in the zone and the limit has been lowered to 50 mph for commercial trucks through the same stretch of I-15.
The lowered limit for trucks came after multiple crashes occurred in Lehi last weekend and the reminder for all drivers comes ahead of winter weather forecasted to hit Utah this Friday, lasting through the weekend.
