2 Taken To Hospital After House Fire In West Valley City

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – Two people have been transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation after they tried to put out a fire in a bedroom.
The incident happened Friday morning in the area of 3400 West and 4000 South.
West Valley Fire Department Battalion Chief Jed Peters said the fire was contained to a single bedroom. Two adults and one child were in the residence at the time.
The adults attempted to extinguish the fire before crews arrived, Peters said. The two were taken to the hospital after firefighters arrived on scene.
There’s an estimated $15,000 worth of damages. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
