1 Dead, 1 Critically Injured In South Salt Lake Crash

SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah – One person has been killed and another critically injured in a New Year’s Day crash in South Salt Lake.
The incident happened at the intersection of 2700 South and 300 West just after 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Details of exactly what happened were not available.
The driver killed was identified as 31-year-old Mavil Labra from West Valley City.
The other driver was transported to the hospital for treatment. He was identified as 46-year-old Wilonja Lusungu of Salt Lake City.
Officials with the South Salt Lake Police Department said Lusungu was driving under the influence. He was arrested after being treated and released from the hospital.
Lusungu was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail.
There were no other passengers in either vehicle.
