Crews Respond After Pedestrian Struck By TRAX Near Central Station

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Police have responded to the Salt Lake Central TRAX station after an incident involving a train and a pedestrian.
Officials with the Utah Transit Authority said a person was struck just before 7:30 p.m. Thursday, but did not have details about exactly what happened.
UTA spokesperson Carl Arky said the patient was being treated. The pedestrian suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The station at 340 South 600 West was closed while emergency crews worked at the scene.
A van bridge was initially put in place from the Old GreekTown Station at 554 West 200 South to Salt Lake Central to get TRAX passengers around the incident.
The van bridge was later expanded between the Central and Planetarium Stations.
As of 8:06 p.m., officials said trains were traveling again as normal.
