Climber Injured By Falling Ice Near Bridal Veil Falls

PROVO, Utah – Search and rescue crews responded to an ice climber who was injured near Bridal Veil Falls, according to officials with the Utah County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue.
The victim was struck in the head by falling ice at the base of the Stairway to Heaven route, but officials said she was wearing a helmet.
Officials said the climber then slid down the hill where search and rescue teams were able to stabilize and lower her via a rope system.
She was taken to an area hospital and officials did not provide an update on her condition.
Crews from the Utah County Sheriff’s Office search and rescue and North Fork Fire Rescue responded.
