Little Cottonwood Canyon Holding Traffic For Avalanche Work

LITTLE COTTONWOOD CANYON, Utah – Avalanche control work is underway in Little Cottonwood Canyon Monday morning on SR 210.
The work is coming after an avalanche slide closed Little Cottonwood Canyon Sunday morning and sent a car off the road.

Crews were up early Monday morning, with a notice the canyon would be closed at 5:30 a.m.
An update to the UDOT twitter account said UPD would be holding traffic intermittently between mile posts 7 – 10.5 during the closure. It will not be a full canyon closure, and the mouth will still be open, according to the twitter account.
SR 210 is closed to uphill traffic for control work at 5:30 a.m. UPD is holding traffic at the mouth. The estimated opening is 8 a.m.
