SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Highway Patrol troopers have asked Utah drivers to slow down, watch for emergency lights and move over for emergency personnel as a winter storm moves into the state.
In 2019, 33 UHP patrol vehicles were hit and troopers said those crashes coincided with heavy storms like this one, which is expected to bring winter driving conditions to roads across Utah.
“We can’t stress it enough, please slow down and give room for emergency vehicles,” troopers said in a tweet.
UHP will have every Trooper available on the road tomorrow morning to be ready for this major winter event. If you have the option to not be on the road during this storm, please don’t. If you have to be out, make sure you and your car are ready to be safe. https://t.co/fA7CcCfU1M
