SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The state’s department of health will be holding a press conference Thursday on its efforts to prepare for a possible coronavirus outbreak in Utah.
Authorities will be outlining how the state’s health systems and hospitals are working together to ensure Utah is ready. The announcement of the press conference came just days after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advised all public health departments in the U.S. to be prepared for community spread of COVID-19.
Currently, there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state.
Gov. Gary Herbert said Utah has already taken steps to prepare for a possible coronavirus outbreak in Utah.
The state’s disease surveillance system is working, according to the Utah Department of Health.
The press conference is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
