Conference Center, Temple Square Public Areas Closed Due To Virus Concerns

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Public areas of buildings owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in and around Temple Square in downtown Salt Lake City have been closed until further notice, due to concerns over the novel coronavirus.
Officials said affected buildings include the Conference Center, Tabernacle, Assembly Hall and North Visitors’ Center.
Construction work on the Salt Lake Temple will continue as planned. Officials said Welfare Square will remain open but public tours have been temporarily suspended.

All public areas of the buildings listed above closed on Friday, March 13, at 5 p.m. Details about how long the areas would be closed were not available.
The closures came after Church officials temporarily suspended all meetings and activities on Thursday.
