MAGNA, Utah – The Magna Water District issued the boil order Thursday after a dead racoon was found in a drinking water storage tank.
“We are pleased to report that the drinking water concern has been resolved, the boil order has been lifted and it is no longer necessary to boil the drinking water,” the district said in a news release.
The recent testing was done at a state approved lab.
Residents in the water district were told to boil their water Thursday immediately after crews discovered the raccoon.
The district received 38,000 bottles of water from Smith’s groceries for concerned customers. The free water is still available until 4 p.m. Friday or until supplies run out.
Residents can pick up the water at the district office located at 8885 West 3500 South, Magna, Utah.
