PARK CITY, Utah — Westbound Interstate 80 was temporarily closed after a butane tank detached from a semi truck and rolled, blocking three lanes of traffic on the interstate in Summit County.
The incident happened around 11:30 a.m. Sunday near milepost 137.
Officials said the semi was carrying two tanks when one fell off the back and rolled. The driver pulled over to the shoulder with the first tank still attached. The second tank remained blocking three lanes of traffic.
Officials said the tank was full of butane.
Troopers took extra precautions, maintaining their distance from the tank. They said the tank had not been compromised and was not leaking.
The Lambs Canyon ramp was still closed as of 4:00 p.m. Sunday.
