‘Noncompliant’ Man Apprehended By K-9 After Running From Crash

SALT LAKE CITY — A “noncompliant” man was apprehended by a K-9 in Salt Lake City after he ran away from the scene of a three-car crash.
Officials said the crash occurred near 3300 South and 300 West just after 6:00 p.m Saturday.
The male driver of the suspect car ran away from the scene.
Danielle Croyle with the South Salt Lake Police Department said officers from multiple agencies were called in to search for him.
K9 units from the West Valley City Police Department were brought in to assist in the search.
The suspect was ultimately found in a nearby backyard.
Croyle said a WVC K-9 was deployed because he was being noncompliant.
The suspect was transported to the hospital “as a result of the K-9 deployment.”
His identity has not been released.
Officials are investigating the cause of the crash.
