ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Disneyland Resort will begin a phased reopening on July 9 with the Downtown Disney District, followed by theme parks reopening July 17, officials said.
Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Paradise Pier Hotel will open the following week on July 23.
The resort closed its doors on March 14 as part of an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure Park will “open with limited capacity, a reservation system and with enhanced health and safety measures,” park officials said.
All guests, including Annual Passport holders, will be required to use the reservation system and there will be a pause on new ticket and Annual Passport sales.
Resort officials said additional details on the reservation system will be available soon.
Activities that draw large gatherings, such as parades and nighttime spectaculars, will return at a later date.

Character meet-and-greets will also be temporarily unavailable, but “characters will be in the parks in new ways to entertain and delight guests.”
The Downtown Disney District will implement “several operational changes … based on guidance from health authorities to promote physical distancing and cleanliness.”
“Additional information on enhanced health and safety measures and operational changes for reopening locations will be shared soon,” officials said. “These policies are under continuous review and are subject to change as the Disneyland Resort monitors conditions and receives guidance from health and government authorities.”
Over 750 million people have visited the park since opening day in 1955 and the resort employs more than 32,000 cast members.
