Human Remains Found In ‘Suspicious Circumstances’ Near Jordan River

SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah – Investigators were called out to an area along the Jordan River in Salt Lake County that officials were originally calling a death with suspicious circumstances.
The South Salt Lake Police Department and South Salt Lake Fire Department responded to an area near 2600 South and 900 West along the river for a recovery effort.
Officials said human remains were discovered
Details about exactly what happened were under investigation. According to a tweet from police, they were still in the preliminary stages of the investigation.
Officials called the incident a “possible unattended death.”
Information about the identity of the person was not available. Their cause of death was not known.
The remains have been sent to the Utah State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
