SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The COVID-19 pandemic forced the IRS to extend the 2020 tax deadline to Wednesday, July 15, and yet, some procrastinators will wait until the last minute to get their taxes done.
The United States Postal Service anticipated that and is keeping some Utah post offices open late and offering self-service kiosks help those taxpayers get their forms in the mail just before the deadline.
Salt Lake City and Provo offer the latest drop off times. Drop off your tax return at the following locations by the designated time and your mail will get a July 15 timestamp, according to the postal service.
- Salt Lake Main Post Office, 1760 West 2100 South, drop in the collection box by 8:15 p.m.
- Provo East Bay Post Office, 936 South 250 East, drop in the collection box by 8:30 p.m.
