Evacuation Advisories Issued Due To Pole Canyon Fire In Utah County

EAGLE MOUNTAIN, Utah – Firefighters are responding to the Pole Canyon Fire near Cedar Fort and state Route 73.
Officials said the fire is growing rapidly and has burned an estimated 300 acres. Eagle Mountain city officials said evacuation advisories have been issued for the White Hills subdivision. They originally tweeted those homes were being evacuated.
State fire officials have determined the fire is human-caused. It was sparked by heavy equipment in the area.

S.R. 73, also known as Cory B. Wride Memorial Highway, is still open but seeing congestion, according to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office.
Four single-engine aircraft tankers, two large helicopters and over 100 personnel have responded to the area.
