785 New COVID-19 Cases, No New Deaths; 200 Patients Currently Hospitalized With Virus

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Department of Health on Sunday reported 785 new COVID-19 cases and no new deaths.
Currently, there are 200 patients hospitalized with the virus. Of those hospitalized, 102 are in intensive care units. Ninety-six patients are also hospitalized as COVID-19 persons under investigation.
According to UDOH, 50.5% of all non ICU beds and 65.1% of all ICU beds in Utah hospitals are occupied.
The rolling seven-day average for positive tests is 637 per day, or 10% of those tested. The state has issued 462,822 total tests.
So far there have been 34,117 positive cases, 2,033 hospitalizations and 243 deaths in Utah.
The state is considering 20,915 patients as recovered, meaning those Utahns received a positive diagnosis more than three weeks ago and they have not died.

How Do I Prevent It?
The CDC has some simple recommendations, most of which are the same for preventing other respiratory illnesses or the flu:
- Avoid close contact with people who may be sick
- Avoid touching your face
- Stay home when you are sick
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue and then throw the tissue in the trash
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating, and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing. Always wash your hands with soap and water if your hands are visibly dirty.
- If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.

If you see evidence of PRICE GOUGING, the Utah Attorney General’s Office wants you to report it. Common items in question include toilet paper, water, hand sanitizer, certain household cleaners, and even cold medicine and baby formula.
