One Critically Injured In Sandy Shooting; Suspect In Custody

SANDY, Utah – Officials with the Sandy Police Department said one male was hospitalized in critical condition after a shooting at Liberty Heights Apartments.
The incident happened around 9 p.m. Friday at the apartment complex, which is near 8200 South and 1300 East.
Police said the circumstances leading up to the shooting were unknown, and the victim was not identified.
The suspect was identified as 28-year-old Anthony Vigil. He was booked into Salt Lake County Jail on aggravated assault charges.
Sandy Police said the victim was shot multiple times but was in stable condition as of Saturday afternoon.
