SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – A virtual statewide job fair set for Thursday will offer hundreds of jobs from dozens of employers.
The Utah Department of Workforce Services said the event will be completely online and free.
A news release said it is the third such event since the pandemic all but shut down the Utah economy.
More than 90 employers will join job hunters online and offer more than 1,000 jobs.
The release said jobs range from retail to health care and manufacturing to tech.
“People can participate from their own computer or smartphone. After logging in, participants will be able to see a digital floor plan with rows of booths, each representing an employer,” the release explained. “After clicking on an employer booth, the user can see the company profile, job openings and social media. They can also start a live chat with a hiring representative and share their resume.”
Some job offers may be made on the spot.
This is a critical time for applicants as the federal unemployment benefit that added an extra $600 to checks ended last week.
The virtual job fair opens at 10 a.m. Thursday. Jobseekers need to register online at jobs.utah.gov.
