KEARNS, Utah – The economic situation caused by the novel coronavirus has put many families in a tough position. That’s why The Point Church and World Vision USA teamed up to provide fresh produce to the Kearns community.
The efforts started Saturday and was scheduled to run for 5 weeks. Community organizers said it is an important service to help those in need during the pandemic.
“We’re giving out free food boxes that include produce and meats, cheeses,” said Point Church Pastor Corey Hodges. “We want to be a part of spreading God’s love, spreading God’s peace and joy, and helping families who may be having a tough time.”
Those who were given boxes were asked to stay inside their cars to maintain social distancing while volunteers loaded up their trunks.
