Worker Dies In Construction Accident In Weber County

OGDEN, Utah – A construction worker died Tuesday in a workplace accident in an unincorporated area of south Weber County.

The incident happened shortly before 9:40 a.m. in the area of 5800 West and 1100 South.

Lt. Cortney Ryan with the Weber County Sheriff’s Office said a worker was crushed by a piece of equipment while working on a pipeline project. Construction workers at the site attempted life-saving efforts, and first responders took over when they arrived on scene.

A helicopter was dispatched but later canceled when the worker died from his injuries.

Ryan said the death is not being treated as suspicious at this time.

The worker’s identity was not released.
