Police Release Video Of Suspect’s Vehicle In Provo MTC Shooting

PROVO, Utah – Police are hoping the public recognizes a vehicle that may be connected to a shooting outside the Missionary Training Center on Aug. 3.
The surveillance video shows a white or silver Subaru Outback as it drives through the intersection near 900 East in Provo.
Officials believe a man inside that vehicle fired several shots from a handgun at an officer in the MTC security booth.
Fortunately, no one was hurt. Authorities are asking anyone who recognizes the vehicle to contact Provo Police Det. Campbell at rcampbell@provo.org or call 801-852-7315.
Follow up to the Provo MTC incident
On the morning of August 3, 2020, a BYU student employed as a Security Officer was working in the security booth at the entrance to the Provo MTC. At approx. 2:30 am a white (or possibly silver) Subaru Outback pulled up on 900 East and stopped in front of the MTC Security booth. A male shot numerous rounds from a handgun towards the security officer inside the booth, causing extensive damage to the booth . The suspect then fled southbound on 900 East.
