ROY, Utah – Three brothers are hoping to ease the burden on their parents as they get ready to fly to Boston for their youngest brother’s second open heart surgery.
Emmet, who is 19 months old, has DiGeorge syndrome, which is a congenital heart problem.
Emmett and his mom are heading to Boston Thursday for his surgery. Emmett’s older brother, Logan, wanted to make sure his mom had enough money for food.
“He said, ‘Why don’t we just do a lemonade stand so we can raise some money so I’d be able to eat over there?'” mom Nicura Thompson said.
The family usually relies on the Ronald McDonald House for meals, but the one in Boston is primarily for families of children with cancer. Thankfully, Logan had some surprise visitors Wednesday afternoon.
The Weber County Sheriff’s Office, the Riverdale Police Department, and Harley Davidson all pitched in to make a donation and drop off a few shirts for the four brothers.
