Utah Reports 504 New COVID-19 Cases, 4 New Deaths, 120 Current Hospitalizations

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Department of Health on Thursday announced 504 new cases of COVID-19 and four new deaths.
The rolling seven-day average for positive tests is 394 per day, and the rolling seven-day average for percent of positive lab tests is up to 9.4%. The state has tested 668,425 people so far, and 53,326 of those tests returned positive.

There are currently 120 patients hospitalized with the virus, 43 of which are in intensive care units. Another 17 patients are currently hospitalized as COVID-19 persons under investigation. UDOH reports 48.1% of all ICU beds and 59.8% of all non-ICU beds are occupied in Utah hospitals.
A total of 414 Utahns have died from the virus. The following deaths were reported Thursday:
- Male, between 45-64, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
- Male, between 45-64, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
- Male, older than 85, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
- Male, between 65-84, Utah County resident, hospitalized at time of death
The state is considering 44,995 cases as recovered, meaning those patients received a positive diagnosis more than three weeks ago and they have not died.
