Utah’s Task Force 1 Returning Home After Fighting Oregon Fires

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah’s Task Force 1 is now done with their mission in Jackson County, Oregon – and now they’re headed home.
The team is expected to be back in the Beehive State later Monday evening.
UT-TF1 has completed their mission in Jackson County, Oregon, and will soon be back home with their families.

The Almeda Fire that was burning in Jackson County destroyed more than 2,300 homes. The fire is suspected to be human caused.
The task force helped assess more than 4,300 structures. More than 3,000 structures were destroyed by the fire. The team helped search more than 1,100 homes that were not damaged. More than 1,600 vehicles were destroyed, and there were 19 hazmat issues.
