SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – If you’ve traveled by plane during the pandemic, you know there are a lot of changes for flying that you need to be aware of.
If you haven’t flown, then get ready to learn some travel tips.
At Delta Airlines, everyone age 2 and older is required to wear a mask, but there are a couple of exceptions to the rule.
Unaccompanied minors are not required to wear a mask. If you have medical reasons for not wearing one, you can get an exemption via a phone screening before your flight.
Jet Blue, Frontier and Alaska Airlines all have the same rules. If you’re 2 years old or older, you have to wear an actual face mask. No face shields or masks with vents are allowed.
That’s not the case for Southwest Airlines, though. Masks are required for everyone, and face shields or masks with vents don’t cut it.
United has the same rules. Masks are required – no exceptions.
American Airlines adds bandanas and cloth scarves to the list of face coverings that won’t be allowed.
In most cases, you’re already wearing a mask to the airport, so it should be easy to remember.
If you have any questions about your specific carrier, remember that airlines are adjusting and updating policies all the time. So it’s a good idea to check before you fly.
