SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – A stolen car crashed into the front door of a Salt Lake City home early Thursday morning, authorities said.
The crash happened at approximately 1:30 a.m. in the area of 1100 South and West Temple.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, a trooper began chasing the car a few blocks away from the crash site after the driver ran a red light. The trooper quickly stopped the chase, though, due to high speeds.
A short time later, the car collided into the structure.
When officers arrived at the scene, the suspect had fled. Nobody in the home was injured.
Authorities said there is a suspect in custody, but they’re unsure at this time if it’s the driver.
UHP said the car was stolen out of Logan.
