TOOELE, Utah – A man died Sunday morning after a vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic on state Route 112, authorities said.

The incident happened shortly after 8 a.m. in the area of Sheep Lane.

A blue passenger car traveling eastbound lost control of the vehicle and drifted across the median, police said. It then collided with a black SUV traveling westbound.

The driver of the blue car, a 29-year-old man, died in the crash. The driver of the SUV was transported to the hospital. The drivers were each the only occupants in their respective vehicles.

“It appears that it may have been weather related,” said Tooele City Police Lt. Lonnie Collings. “The roads were very slushy and covered in snow at this time.”

The victim’s identity has not been released.
