SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The United States Air Force gets a lot of military attention in Utah due to Hill Air Force Base.
However, when it comes to flying, nobody does it like the U.S. Army’s parachute team, the Golden Knights.
The traveling elite group of skydiving experts wanted KSL news specialist Dan Spindle to get the feeling of free falling.
Dan was suited up in a gold jumpsuit so he could fell like he’s part of the team.
The team got the rundown of the equipment and the experts who’d literally be strapped to the backs of the civilians.
Then, 12,500 feet above the Valley of Fire State Park in southern Nevada, Dan took the dive with his trainer, Marcus.
Joe, another one of the Golden Knights, filmed the jump.
So why introduce civilians to this part of the Army’s mission?
“This is a huge opportunity,” said Capt. Brett Christensen. “The Army isn’t just guns. We have a lot of different things, so it’s fun for me to watch things like this.”
