SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former Jazz owner Larry H. Miller’s person coin collection is going up for auction to support a good cause.
The coins will be sold in two separate sales, with the first one happening Thursday. The second auction will be in December.
All the proceeds are being donated to Intermountain Health Care for the construction of a new children’s hospital.
Some of the rare coins are expected to go for more than $3 million. In all, there are 437 of Miller’s coins up for auction online.
As of 5:30 a.m., the current highest bid was $460,000 for a Morgan Silver Dollar from 1884 – a coin minted before Utah was officially a state.
