SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – If you’ve been out shopping this holiday season, you’ve no doubt noticed things are very different from any other year leading up to Black Friday.
RC Willey is spreading out its sales this month and have moved a lot of deals online. However, you can still go into the store to score those much needed items for your home.
“We have plexiglass screens by the cashiers,” RC Willey CEO Scott Hymas said. “We’re doing the hand sanitizing throughout the department. All of our associates are in face masks, we have face masks at the front of the store.”
Hymas said the Utah-based retailer has seen its online sales surge thanks to people staying at home.
Customers can also call the store and set an appointment to shop when very few people will be at the location.
It’s one of many changes that may or may not stick around after the pandemic ends.
“Some of those changes are pretty good,” Hymas said. “We’ve learned a few things. But others will come back, and I always like to say if this is where we were on the pendulum before and we’ve swung over here, I see a lot of things we do in the future will come back to the middle.”
RC Willey will not be open on Thanksgiving Day, which is a tradition it’s had for years.
