Woman Dies After Head-On Collision In Emery County

EMERY, Utah – A woman died after an early-crash in Emery County on Tuesday.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, the incident happened at approximately 2:30 a.m. near mile marker 19 on state Route 10.
Authorities said a red Chevy Trailblazer traveling northbound crossed the center line of the highway and collided with a white Kenworth tractor-trailer that was traveling south.
The occupant of the Trailblazer, a solo woman, sustained severe injuries and “life-saving efforts were unsuccessful,” according to officials.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, a solo man, sustained minor injuries and was treated on the scene.
It wasn’t immediately clear what caused the Trailblazer to cross into the oncoming lane or if the driver was wearing a seatbelt.
