KNOLLS, Utah — A man has died after he was ejected from his pickup truck during a single vehicle rollover crash near Knolls.
The driver was traveling eastbound on Interstate 89 in a Toyota pickup truck around 2:46 p.m. Sunday when he drifted off the left side of the road and into the median.
He tried to overcorrect the vehicle near milepost 60, but in doing so, was sent back into the median, causing the truck to roll.
The driver was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers said the car landed in lane two on the westbound side of traffic after it rolled and caught fire.
All traffic was temporarily blocked while troopers investigated the incident.
Officials said they suspect the driver, who was the only person inside the car, was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
His identity has not been released pending notification of family.
An exact cause remains to be known.
