SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Deseret News printed its last daily edition of the newspaper overnight.
In October, the paper announced it was ending its joint operation agreement with the Salt Lake Tribune at the end of the year, as both platforms move toward a larger digital presence due to dwindling demand from printed newspapers.
Deseret News will now move to a once-a-week printed paper as well as a monthly news magazine.
The newspaper was founded in 1850 and remains Utah’s oldest continuously operating business.
KSL TV and Deseret News are owned by the same parent company.
