SALT LAKE CITY — An adult male’s body has been located in the Jordan River, according to the Salt Lake City Police Department.
A group of kayakers found the body on the east bank of the river near Fremont Avenue, just west of the International Peace Gardens, around 1:15 p.m. Sunday, according to SLCPD Lt. Steve Wooldridge.
SLCPD, along with Salt Lake City Fire Department and state land medical examiners, responded to the scene.
A water rescue was conducted, but Wooldridge said it was “too early to tell” how the individual died.
The cause of death remains under investigation.
The victim’s identity was not immediately available.
