Man Killed In Auto-Pedestrian Crash In Downtown Salt Lake

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – A 78-year-old was killed in an auto-pedestrian in downtown Salt Lake City. The driver did not remain on the scene.
Lt. Brian Sloan with the Salt Lake City Police Department said the man was walking southbound on 200 West around midnight Saturday when he came to the intersection of 400 South.
Officials said the man was walking through the intersection “against the light” when a silver SUV struck him.
Witnesses said the vehicle fled the scene.
The man, whose identity was not released, was transported to the hospital where he later died of his injuries.
Officials has asked anyone with information about the incident to call police.
