SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Amazon Music will become the exclusive home of KSL’s Cold Podcast with the launch of season 2, station leadership announced.
The announcement of the highly anticipated season 2 will happen on March 10, 2021. KSL Podcasts produced the “COLD: Susan Powell Case Files” in its initial season.
“This is a groundbreaking partnership. Bringing together a locally produced podcast, which has already generated strong national interest, with the incredible strength of the Amazon Music brand will help deliver the power of these important stories to an even larger audience,” said Tanya Vea, senior vice president of Bonneville International, Salt Lake City. “We are humbled that a company like Amazon Music believes in our product and grateful for the commitment from their team.”
COLD is produced by KSL Podcast with partners KSL Newsradio, KSL-TV, and Workhouse Media. It is hosted by KSL Investigative Reporter, Dave Cawley. Sheryl Worsley, Director of Podcasting for KSL is also the Executive Producer.
Season 1 was the result of a years-long investigation by Cawley and his team. They researched case files and other records to piece together the case of Utah mother Susan Powell. The tragic story of her family included her disappearance, abusive marriage to Josh Powell, the shocking behavior of his father Steven Powell, and the death of the Powell children.
The first season had nearly 45 million downloads with a 5-star rating.
“We can’t wait to dive further into the story of COLD, and for listeners around the globe to be able to hear the new season exclusively on our service,” said Kintan Brahmbhatt, Director of Podcasts for Amazon Music.
