SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Department of Health on Wednesday reported 10 more Utahns have died from COVID-19 and an additional 901 people have tested positive.

There are currently 263 people hospitalized with the virus.

Utah has administered 18,083 more doses of the vaccine.

Testing

UDOH reports 2,136,588 people have been tested so far, which is an increase of 7,063 tested since yesterday.

Of those, a total of 363,248 Utahns have tested positive for COVID-19. That’s an increase of 901 positive cases over Tuesday’s report.

The rolling 7-day average for positive tests is 845 per week.

The rolling 7-day average for percent positivity of “people over people” is 13.5%, and the rolling 7-day average for percent positivity of “tests over tests” is 6.13%.

Hospitalizations

Currently, 263 people are hospitalized with confirmed cases of COVID-19, and 99 of those people are in intensive care units. Another 27 patients are hospitalized with suspected cases of COVID-19.

Utah’s ICUs are 72.3% full, and the ICU beds in the state’s referral centers are 76.6% full.

Referral Centers are the 16 hospitals in Utah with the capability to provide the best care for patients with COVID-19. Because most patients are transferred to these facilities, their utilization is the best reflection of the true hospital capacity in Utah when looking at ICU beds.
