14 More Have Died From COVID; 18K Additional Vaccines Have Been Administered

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah health officials reported 14 more people have died from COVID-19, and an additional 812 have tested positive.
The state administered 18,005 vaccines since Tuesday’s report.
Currently, 222 people are hospitalized with the virus.

Testing
The Utah Department of Health reports 2,180,594 people have been tested so far, which is an increase of 7,631 people tested since yesterday.
Of those, a total of 368,601 Utahns have tested positive for COVID-19. That’s an increase of 812 positive cases since Tuesday’s report.
The rolling 7-day average for positive tests is 768 per day.
The rolling 7-day average for percent positivity of “people over people” is 13.1%, and the rolling 7-day average for percent positivity of “tests over tests” is 6.1%.
Hospitalizations
There are currently 222 people hospitalized with confirmed cases of COVID-19, and 91 of those people are in intensive care units. Another 30 patients are hospitalized with suspected cases of COVID-19.
Utah’s ICUs are 73.7% full. The ICU beds at the state’s referral centers are 77.2% full.
Referral Centers are the 16 hospitals in Utah with the capability to provide the best care for patients with COVID-19. Because most patients are transferred to these facilities, their utilization is the best reflection of the true hospital capacity in Utah when looking at ICU beds.
Deaths
Utah reported 14 more residents have lost their lives to COVID-19, bringing the state’s pandemic death toll to 1,879.

- between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
- between 25-44, Tooele County resident, not hospitalized
- between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, not hospitalized
6 women
- older than 85, Washington County resident, not hospitalized
- between 65-84, Utah County resident, hospitalized at time of death
- older than 85, Salt Lake County resident, not hospitalized
- older than 85, Salt Lake County resident, long-term care facility resident
- between 65-84, Box Elder County resident, not hospitalized
- older than 85, Salt Lake County resident, not hospitalized
Vaccinations
Utah administered 18,005 additional vaccines since yesterday’s report, bringing the total number of vaccines administered to 641,881.
So far, 420,262 residents have received the first dose, and 221,619 have been fully immunized with both doses.
There have been 760,410 vaccines delivered to Utah.
