LEHI, Utah – A student brought a weapon to Lehi Junior High School on Thursday, authorities said.

David Stephenson, Alpine School District public information officer, said school authorities responded after someone reported the weapon.

No injuries were reported.

He did not specify what kind of weapon it was, and it was unclear if the student intended to use it.

Stephenson said parents were notified of the incident, and the Lehi Police Department is currently investigating.

The student will have a hearing to determine the consequences of violating the safe schools policy, Stephenson said.
