SB I-15 Reopens In Lehi Following Crash; One Child In Critical Condition
LEHI, Utah – Southbound Interstate 15 was closed for several hours in Lehi following a crash that left an 8-year-old child in critical condition.
Lt. Nick Street with the Utah Highway Patrol said a Kia Soul crashed into the median before crossing all lanes of traffic and hitting a wall at the Lehi Main Street on-ramp Thursday evening.
Traffic was stopped at the 2100 North exit while a medical helicopter landed on the freeway to transport the injured child.
🤯 This is what 2100 South and 1550 West looks like… Traffic being rerouted in all directions. @KSLChopper5 is flying over accident that has I-15 closed in both directions. We have even seen cars being directed off the freeway, by going the wrong direction. @KSL5TV pic.twitter.com/z4g1LcSrYG

Troopers said the driver and passenger were taken to an area hospital in fair/stable condition.
No cause for the crash has been released. Traffic backed up to Point of the Mountain during the closure and Utah Department of Transportation officials said to expect major delays through the evening commute.
Street said the freeway was closed while UHP’s crash reconstruction team investigated the scene.
It reopened at 7:15 p.m. Thursday.
Update: SB I-15 has been reopened at MP 282 in Lehi. Expect significant residual delays in the area and on alternate routes as traffic returns to normal. https://t.co/Z6Sx5VpVt5
