15 Utahns Have Died From COVID-19, Authorities Say

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Health officials on Tuesday reported 383 Utahns have tested positive for COVID-19, and 15 more have died from the virus.
Authorities said 12 of those people died before March 1.
The news comes as the state has issued an additional 23,950 vaccines.
Currently, 131 people are hospitalized with COVID-19.

Testing
The Utah Department of Health reports 2,340,071 people have been tested so far, which is an increase of 6,022 people tested since yesterday.
Of those, a total of 382,171 Utahns have tested positive for COVID-19.
The rolling 7-day average for positive tests is 443 per day.
The rolling 7-day average for percent positivity of “people over people” is 7.8%. The rolling 7-day average for percent positivity of “tests over tests” is 4%.
Hospitalizations
There are currently 131 people hospitalized with confirmed cases of COVID-19, and 49 of those people are in intensive care units. Another 18 patients are hospitalized with suspected cases of COVID-19.
Utah’s ICUs are 63.7% occupied. The ICU beds in the state’s referral centers are 66.2% full.
Referral Centers are the 16 hospitals in Utah with the capability to provide the best care for patients with COVID-19. Because most patients are transferred to these facilities, their utilization is the best reflection of the true hospital capacity in Utah when looking at ICU beds.
Deaths
Utah reported an additional 15 residents have died as a direct result of COVID-19. According to UDOH, 12 of those people died before March 1.
To date, 2,077 Utahns have been killed by the virus.

- Female, between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, long-term care facility resident
- Female, between 65-84, Utah County resident, long-term care facility resident
- Male, older than 85, Davis County resident, long-term care facility resident
- Female, older than 85, Utah County resident, long-term care facility resident
- Male, between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, not hospitalized at time of death
- Female, between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, long-term care facility resident
- Male, older than 85, Davis County resident, long-term care facility resident
- Male, older than 85, Garfield County resident, long-term care facility resident
- Female, between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, not hospitalized at time of death
- Male, older than 85, Utah County resident, not hospitalized at time of death
- Female, between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, not hospitalized at time of death
- Male, between 45-64, Utah County resident, not hospitalized at time of death
- Male, between 45-64, Cache County resident, hospitalized at time of death
Vaccinations
Utah has administered 1,178,728 vaccines so far, which is an increase of 23,950 over Monday’s report.
So far, 780,081 people have received at least one dose of the vaccine, and 429,306 Utahns have been fully immunized.
There have been 1,323,050 vaccines delivered to the state.
