MIDVALE, Utah – Officials with the Unified Police Department said one person was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash Tuesday night.
The crash happened at 900 East and Fort Union Boulevard. Police said the victim, a man in his 60s, was crossing north to south in a crosswalk at the intersection.
After the crash, officers said the male suspect got out of his vehicle, looked at the pedestrian, then fled eastbound.
The victim suffered serious head injuries and was hospitalized in critical condition.
Police said the suspect vehicle is a darker-colored Chevrolet minivan, possibly gold, with damage to its front end and a broken or damaged windshield.
Officers said they’ve noticed more auto-pedestrian crashes lately with more people walking outside later at night.
