OAKLEY, Utah — One man died after he crashed his car near Oakley and was ejected.
Troopers with the Utah Highway Patrol responded to the single-vehicle crash on state Route 32 around 1:24 a.m. Sunday. They found a Subaru Legacy had left the roadway at the intersection with New Lane and struck an embankment.
“The vehicle became airborne where it then struck a large power pole before overturning and coming to rest off the roadway,” read a press release from the Utah Department of Public Safety.
The single male occupant was not swearing a seatbelt, according to DPS officials, and was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials said alcohol was being investigated as a contributing factor in the crash.
The victim’s identity was not immediately available.
